Integrating 10 to 100, 2016/2017
Integrating 10 to 100 is a collaborative arts project with the University of the 3rd Age (U3A) in Maynooth, Integrating Dance, Body Movement and Visual Arts. This project is funded by Kildare County Council Arts Service under the Arts Act Grant Scheme of 2016.
This collaboration between myself and Patty Abozaglo, Laban Dance and Body Movement and Capacitar tutor, is based on the 10th Anniversary of the U3A in Maynooth and on Ireland during the 1916 Easter Raising.
Participants will have an opportunity to:
- Explore the perceptions of the participants in relation to the women of 1916.
- Enhance the identity and cohesion of the U3A, by acknowledging and embodying their achievements after ten years of existence.
Sessions will combine Capacitar Practices and Laban Dance and Body Movement along with Visual Arts in an exploration of the themes proposed. Participants will have an opportunity to explore and combine the two arts forms.

Arts in Education Project 2016/2017
St Kilian’s National School, Mullagh, Co Cavan.
As part of the roll-out of the exciting new Arts in Education (AIE) initiative I am delighted to partner with St Kilians’s NS in Co Cavan along with teacher Breeda Kenny and the 5th Class pupils of 2016. This pilot project is one of 20 similar projects and partnerships happening nationally over the current school year. Twenty two pupils, in the village of Mullagh, will develop and create their own print project based on the current school and the new school. The school will have moved to its new building and be settled in its now location by Christmas.
The AIE initiative is jointly sponsored by the Department of Education and the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs and is managed by the Irish Museum of Modern Art; Poetry Ireland and Music Network.
