Glass fusing in school

BLAST Project – December 2021

I am very grateful to Ms Daly in Ratoath College for a BLAST invitation to work with a number of students across 2rd and 3rd years to introduce fused glass imagery and techniques. The students designed and developed individual fused glass images that were then kiln fired. The individual glass artworks will be displayed in grid type format on a large landing window. The specific window selected enjoys long hours of daylight and abundant sunshine which will illuminate the artworks, highlighting all the detailed elements.  It was an exciting project for the students and teachers and for myself as artist. BLAST is a project of the Department of Education and Creative Ireland and in this case was administered and coordinated through Navan Education Centre.
