The work was exhibited as part of the final exhibition marking the end of the inaugural Arthouse NCAD Graduate Award and Bursary 2011-2012, Stradbally, Co Lois. Supported by the National College of Art and Design, Dublin and Laois County Council Arts Office.
*Cultúrbug, the name developed by the group of participants, worked with Vera McEvoy on a weekly basis over a year. The projects undertaken were a mix of collaborative and participatory processes to explore contemporary art and its relevance to their lives in the village of Stradbally.
Many materials and techniques were explored; merging various objects with clay and plaster, knitting with wire, plastic and shredded papers. Temporary installations were placed in selected local landscapes and documented. The year culminated with a final exhibition in the Arthouse called absəns prezəns.
