Just completed another arts in Education: Teacher Artist Partnership Summer course, this year I was in the Galway Educational Centre, 2nd- 6th July 2018. Galway was shining in all its glory and buzzing in the lovely summer weather. Many of our creative session took place out doors which was a wonderful bonus. The Galway Ed centre is a beautiful building which contributed wonderfully to our summer course with a difference. Thank you to all the staff for having us there and for assisting us.
These are unique summer course, which take place nationally, offering teachers the opportunity to explore the nature and educational value of partnerships between teachers and artists in supporting arts education in schools. Four Teacher Artist residency projects will be awarded from each centre and they will take place in the forthcoming academic year. For more information on this initiative see the Arts In Education portal or contact your local Educational Centre.
Thank you to all the participants both artists and teachers who contributed to a wonderful week. Very sincere thanks to Bríd, my co-facilitator whose organisation skills, energy and enthusiasm for the Teacher Artist Partnership was outstanding. Much fun, new learning, creativity and new relationships were developed.
